A few are: being found in the posession of drugs, and having a criminal record or being a national security risk, for instance if you are on a list of radical Muslims or known terrorists. Also clear indications that you might be illegally seeking employment in the UK would be a reason "This being your first trip to the UK" by the way is not a reason for being refused entry.
