The size difference between youth and toddler beds can be quite a bit, twin beds which are used for youths are a few inches longer and wider than toddler mattresses used with toddler beds.

Twin is a small adult size bed. Toddler is bought in a children's shop and has special linens. An adult won't fit ina toddler.

There are a couple of differences between toddler beds and twin beds. First, a twin bed is longer than a toddler bed. Usually, a toddler bed is lower to the ground than a twin bed as well, since it is designed for a child. The most important difference is that a toddler bed usually has bed rails or some other type of enclosure, to insure the child does not roll off the bed. A standard twin bed does not.
A double room has one double bed. A twin room has two twin beds.
