Wedding gifts can be opened before or during the reception. For a large reception, gifts can be opened and put on a display table with a card indicating the giver. The Groom can keep cash or checks in his inside breast pocket.

You thank every person individually as you open the gifts from them, then thank every one collectively while giving a very short friendly speech afterwards.

Even if they are paying for the reception Is it OK for your in-laws to demand to be there while your wife and you open all wedding envelopes to see what was given by everyone who attended?

* It isn't your in-laws making any demands, but proper etiquette if you are opening the gift envelopes at the reception. Most parents of the bride and groom give monetary gifts so they would like to be there to enjoy you opening their gift. Some couples have a gift opening the day after the wedding because there is too much going on at the wedding. If you don't want them there then you shouldn't take the gift they gave you.

Is there an order to hand out wedding gifts?

No, there is no order in handing out weddinggifts. Some people may drop off or mail a wedding gift to the home of the bride; other people will bring the wedding gifts to the wedding reception and usually the gifts are not opened at wedding reception (parents will take the wedding gifts home with them while the bride and groom go off on their wedding night) and some married couples will wait a day or two and have a 'gift opening party' either at their home or at their parents home.

What are the gifts for each wedding anniversary?

== == Appropriate anniversary gift giving for the first, fifth, tenth, fifteenth, twentieth, twenty-fifth and fiftieth years of marriage. Gifts in the early years of marriage were small remembrances, or tokens, such as paper (1st), wood (5th), and tin (10th). In later years of matrimony, gifts gained value, including crystal (15th), china (20th), silver (25th) and gold (50th). The light-hearted nature of early anniversary gift giving, saying "the paper, wooden and tin presents are seldom anything but jokes but, still mean something to many people. Crystal is the earliest that is likely to be taken seriously by the gift-bearers." {| ! Year |} {| ! Traditional |} {| ! Do you send a gift for wedding 3?

* It doesn't matter if a person gets married two or eight times, it is etiquette to bring a wedding gift which is usually left at the reception on a special table for gifts. If there is just the wedding and no reception or it's a reception at someone's home then leave the gift there for the couple.

What is proper etiquette for opening housewarming gifts When should they be opened When the gift giver gives it Or after all the guests are gone?

* The proper etiquette is for the host, hostess or both to open their gifts in front of their guests, but, in these modern times when there are a lot of guests and everyone is having fun it is sometimes impossible to choose a time to open gifts. If this is the case it's acceptable and the hostess or couple can open their gifts the next day, but they should send out an Thank You Card to show their appreciation.
