I live in Southern Italy. Life in Southern Italy is not bad, we have a normal life, we go to work or to school, we meet up in restaurants, cafés etc. we don't have economic problems as people from Northern Italy say( for example in Naples there's the largest concentration of skyscrapers in Italy, and most of the buildings are among the tallest in the country). There's a high quality of life in fact I live in a Little city of less than 50.000 inhabitants but there are at least 10 people with a Ferrari and a lot of people with Porsche, Audi, BMW etc. In my city even if it is small there are a lot of shops (street made up of only shops that neither an American city of 50.000 inhabitants could have). We have good Highways, good railways, many international airports, subway systems and there are many large cities. Southern Italy is well known for its tourist destinations (Pompeii, Vesuvius, Amalfi Coast, Capri, Sicily, Apulia, Calabria) and in these places there are many luxury hotels, night clubs ( especially in Capri where there are huge Yachts too, all the most famous people in the world such as Hollywood actors, singers and royals spent their holidays there). In big cities like Naples there are the best fashion trademarks of the world, Prada, Gucci, Bulgari etc. Then there's a beautiful climate and you can always go to the seaside, that is one of the best in Europe. And the Mafia problem is not worrying because nowadays only few people are part of it, and if you're not part of Mafia they won't do anything to you! By the way life in Northern Italy is a bit better and people are richer but the living costs are higher, and another problem is that people from Northern Italy always tease people from Southern people, they call us "Terroni" because they think they are superior to us, but they can't realise that if they believe to stupid common places they are intellectually inferior because their mind is still in the ninetieth century. And they tease us on local TVs and on newspapers but the state is trying to change this horrible thing , even if Northern Italy founded a party to declare indipendence from South ( even if really few people wants it and much probably they won't never ask it), and probably without North, richness in the South will finish but it won't in the North. Not all the cities in the South are like Naples with luxury shops and tall skyscrapers, there are some really small towns, with 1000 inhabitants, that are horrible but there you'll find a very very warm welcome. Now you have the Pros and the Cons, the choice is only to you!
