o you will need the water to be over the turtle because turtles can only swallow under the water / i feed my baby snapper raw meat like fish i catch out the lake you will need a heat lamp so it can bask they dont bask much and dont make the water realy deep they can drown you can use decorated rock mud dirt sand there favorite is sand anything exept stuff that can kill it like gasoline
Its expensive to raise any turtle really but I got some and its like a 20 gallon tank you put in some rocks like it were a fish and move them to one end and then put in water make it so it can get into water and get out get an UV spectrum-light because they need sunlight and this will help and get a small take heater that will keep it between 75-80 degrees it also helps to have a filter to keep it clean in there and it moves the food around witch attracts them to bite it use either small insects or turtle pellets if the turtle is really small break it in half as it grows put more water in and you can feed it bigger things once in a while if u get an old toothbrush and clean them off I do this about once a month and feed them a few pellets once or twice a day.
You put it in a place Where it has water and don't put your hands, fingers, or anything around it's mouth even though it is a baby doesn't mean he can't bite it off. Make sure it has a lot of food cause it might use something else and that isn't Good for health or metabolism. Always cleanse hands and wear a mittens when handling.
Feed it frog and tadpole bites from petsmart and fill the bowl with water and a large rock sticking out of the water
