ask yourself this question is your tracker over heating? if you said yes you may need water pump, thermostat, and engine coolant :)
COuld be a number of things. check out the temp sending unit , check for a faulty thermostat, could be a broken or loose wire from the sending unit. these are the things I would check first. oldtom
The IAT Sensor on a 1992 Geo Tracker is the Intake Air Temperature Sensor. Replacing the air filter might fix this problem.
No coolant, junk thermostat or blown head gasket. Pressure test system to find leaks, check thermostat. Just because it's new doesn't mean it works. Buy quality. To test the thermostat place it in hot water at the temperature stamped on it, and see if it opens. Or take it out completely and put it back together and see if it over heats. ! Warning ! do not cook the engine or you could warp the aluminum head. On_mitch
