Shishlik is a Turkish word shish + lik. Shish means skewer and lik is a suffix for being related to. It is a kind of Kabob that is being made on skewer. It is equivalent to Shish Kabob. When the kind of meat is not specified, it means that it should be the lamb meat. This kebob is very popular in all the middle eastern countries and also east Europe and Russia. In Iran, They have very specific names for kabobs so Shishlik just applies to the kabob made from lamb's lion chops. In some countries they marinate the meat for making shish kabob, but it some other it is not marinated and has a very heavy taste of red meat. The best way to cook it, is to buy a young lamb lion chops, then put the meat in the refrigerator for few days (fresh meat is very though and not suitable for making kabobs) without any marination, then BBQ on very hot charcoal for few minutes(5 minutes each side). During the BBQ you can use butter to make it more delicious. At the end you can add a little salt to it. It tastes fantastic.
