lee's theory of migration is based on three elements 1. Place of origin 2. Place of destination 3. Intervening obstacles . There are some positive (pull) and some negative (push) factors. These factors vary from person to person. Push factors at the place of origin compel a migrant to emigrate, and pull factors at the place of destination at attract to immirants. Some time pull factors while sometime push factors are resposible for migration .
Push factors: New technologies destroy many jobs in a particular region. Pull factors: New technologies create many new jobs in a particular city. Forced migration: Mobs attack members of a minority religious group. Voluntary migration: People move to a place where their religious group is the minority.

Availability of finance. 4. Concessions and subsidies given by the govt. Push factors are compelling factors, they are: 1. Unfortunate family circumstances (death of husband & or father). 2. Financial difficulties. 3. Responsibility towards family.
