That varies depending on the year, model and engine. Check your owners manual. If you do not have one, check online. You can usually find one online for free. Beware that generic brand premium gas WILL leave more deposits than regular gas from the same station. However, good gas stations like Shell and Mobil add more detergents to their premium gas than their regular, making it the opposite. If you can not find an owners manual you can call the Audi dealer and find out. Ignore it when people say unless your car calls for premium using it is wasting your money. That is NOT true because higher octane gas can be compressed more before exploding. Modern cars can adjust spark and valve timing so you get more power than using regular gas. It is a good idea to stick with one grade because the car's computer will have to readjust when you use different octane gas. I used to have a 2006 Honda Civic LX that used regular gas up until 135000 miles. I accidentally used 93 octane instead of the normal 87 octane that was specified in the owners manual. Within 3 miles I noticed less hesitation and it felt a lot smoother. Ever since that mistake I only used 93 octane gas. I hope this helps.
