Contact your dealer. Each vehicle identification number has its own radio code. There are no generic codes. Be prepared to prove ownership when trying to get a code. If it is a junk yard radio they may be able to give you the code from the radio serial number. Most dealers make a copy of your drivers license and put it in the information request to the Ford information system.
Check fuses , or bulbs in radio burn out.

you will need to bypass the amps in the passanger side rear of the vehicle if its the Eddie Bauer edition.
the led panel is burnt out you can either take it to a radio repair shop or buy a used radio you can't fix it
Our antenna is located on the passenger side rear 1/4 glass, looks like the rear window heat strip, the main antenna wire runs the length of the head liner on the passenger side.
You can find a radio wiring harness for your 1997 Ford at most auto-parts stores. Many electronic stores will also have the radio wiring harness.

All late model Ford products are the same; the radio has two holes on either side of the face. These holes are about an inch and a half apart. Ford makes a special tool for removing the radio. You may be temped to use Allen wrenches or small screw drivers. DO NOT DO THIS. It will damage the clips and make it difficult to remove the unit. buy the tool. They are inexpensive and can be found at any auto parts store. Inset the tool on both sides and gently pull forward on the whole unit.
The antenna cable comes out of the back of the radio. Then runs along the inside of dashboard behind glove box, runs down behind right kick panel and then goes under the floor trim on inside of door (pry the panel up to see), then I believe it connects to the back window. The actual antenna is inside the glass.
