B. Liability insurance
You need General Liability Insurance. Many isurers have programs tailored for day care canters you can obtain from any authorized insurer in your state.
If you run a small daycare out of your home, you can sometimes add an endorsement to your home insurance for about $150.00 oer year. The limit is usually 4-6 children. If you are operating a larger day care in your home, the cost of insurance may start at $1,000 per year or more depending on size, experience, etc.
For a daycare, whether it be at a rented location or in home, you need to have general liability insurance, workers compensation insurance for employees, and possibly an accident policy to cover the children should small medical issues/claims arise from your daycare operation. Transporting the childern would bring significant additional risk so is best to avoid if possible. At home daycares are more difficult to insure than a facility specifically built for daycare and 100% childproofed. In California, insurance for a start up daycare facility with two employees is likely to cost over $10k for the whole package (Gl and work comp)
Daycare InsuranceWhen seeking any type of insurance, including insurance for operating a daycare, always start by calling your local agent. They should be able to meet most if not all of your insurance needs. ..
Your local insurance broker (Or me) can help you out, but just as an FYI in home day care is considered VERY high risk, so the cost of insurance on the operations is likely to be $7,500+ per year including general liability and an employee or two on work comp. This does not include any coverage for transporting kids which would be seperate, along with most likely an accident and injury policy for smaller bodily injury claims.
Most require it as it is a safety precaution and a good daycare will have it. However, it is not a requirement of of all daycare facilities.
It depends on the daycare center and if it is private or a daycare center the average is between $150-$300 per week.
The average yearly salary for someone who owns a daycare center is $48,170. On the high end, salaries can reach $58,190.
it depends upon how big the daycare is and how many children go there
It really depeneds on where you work. I doibt someone would give you free insureance for working at a daycare. But my boss did give me free health insurance. But he did take it away. So I guess my answer is: NO
Daycare teachers in Louisiana make about 26,000 dollars per year. The average daycare working makes about 12 dollars per hour.
