What is the best way to bring wine on a Norwegian Cruise Line vessel?

Norwegian Cruise line does not permit Alcoholic Beverages to be brought onboard their vessels. Actually, this is pretty much an industry standard. Some will say it's a Public Health reason, others will tell you it's a revenue reason and still others state that they can't control underage drinking unless they are pouring the drinks. In any event, most liquor packed in checked baggage will be picked up on X-ray machines and held aside for you to claim after the ship sails. Wine and champagne are generally returned to you with a $15/bottle corkage fee. The ship will even store your beverage in their coolers and deliver it to your room or dining venue of your choice with a 24-hour notice. In most cases, liquor however will not be returned to you until the last evening or morning of the cruise. (Don't forget, behind shore excursions and the casino - the Bar department is 3rd in line for revenues on cruise ships!)
