do you mean ice? melting ice is anything over 0 degrees Celsius. Water is still a liquid. If your meaning like evaporate then 100 degrees celsius or 212 degrees F.

The melting point of water increases as altitude decreases. At sea level is 212 degrees Fahrenheit. At 1000 feet below sea level the melting point of water is 213.0 degrees Fahrenheit.

What is the difference in melting a glacier and iceberg?

They are both ice and they may both be melting. But the iceberg is already displacing water, so by melting does little to raise the sea level. When a glacier melts, the additional water does raise the sea level somewhat. This would be particularly true when major ice caps such as the Greenland ice cap, melt.

What would melt faster a normal ice cube or a sea water ice cube?

A sea water ice cube -- Because the melting point of sea water is lower than that of normal water.

How does melting points and boiling compare to the characteristics of seal level of 0 celsius and 100 celsius?

At sea level, 1 atm, the melting point of water is 0 oC and the boiling point of water is 100 oC.

What part of the earth is melting because of global warming?

Glaciers and ice caps are melting. The ice over Greenland is melting and so is the Arctic sea ice.

How much would the sea level rise if all of the Arctic ice melted?

Actually, the sea level would not rise appreciably--at least, not at first. Arctic ice is floating in water, and when melted, takes up less volume than ice does. This is an oversimplification, though, since the climate changes accompanying the increased amount of seawater--which would then evaporate in larger volumes, resulting in increased rainfall, etc.--are harder to predict. It is the ice that is sitting on land that is important. Melting of continental ice sheets acts to raise sea-levels.According to the Third Assessment Report of the International Panel on Climate Change, the ice contained within Greenland Ice Sheet represents a sea-level rise equivalent of 7.2 metres (24 feet). The ice contained within the Antarctic Ice-sheet represents 61.1 metres (200 feet) of sea-level change. That is, if both the Antarctic Ice-Sheet, and the Greenland Ice-Sheet were to melt, sea-level would rise by 68.3 metres (224 feet).

What is the melting point of water at sea level and what happens to this point at altitudes above sea level?

i think you mean what is the melting point of ice as water cant melt. the melting point of ice at sea level is 100 degres celsius

What is fathrenheit?

A man's name given to a scale of temperatures running from zero at the lowest melting point of ice to 100 for human body heat (but now said to tun from 32 for melting point of pure ice to 212 for the boiling point of water [at sea level].

What cause sea level to rise?

Global Warming and the melting of ice.

Why is sea ice melt does not contribute directly to sea level?

Sea ice is already in the water, so melting it doesn't affect sea levels.

What are the reasons for the melting of glacial ice and why the sea level rises?

Global warming (caused by our burning of fossil fuels) is expanding the ocean water and melting glacial ice. Thie melted ice also adds to the sea level rise.

Does the loss of Arctic sea ice affect the way of life in Florida?

Directly it does not, because melting sea ice does not contribute to sea level rise (it is already in the ocean displacing the water). However, it tends to generate positive feedbacks that further warm the atmosphere, melting more ice that is on land which will raise sea level.

Is the arctic melting and are sea and oceans?

Yes the arctic ice caps are melting and the level of the worlds oceans is slowly rising.

How does Antarctica's melting ice affect global sea levels?

Antarctica's melting ice will flow into the sea. This will raise sea levels around the world. There is enough ice on Antarctica to raise sea levels by 60 metres (200 feet).

When the sea level rises does it get colder or warmer?

colder because it is caused by the ice caps melting

What has coursed the sea level's to rise?

global warming has caused the polar ice caps to melt, this has caused sea level to rise
