The relay sensor is likely defective
low coolant
i have sort of the same problem on my dodge 2000 the temperature gauge recently went out and i replaced the sensor but the gauge always reads 0 your not alone with this one...
There are a few different reasons why your temperature gauge always shows that the temperature is low. It may need to be fixed.
They don't have fuses. The speedometer is controlled by the speed sensor(s) and the temperature gauge is controlled by the coolant temperature sensor.
Both.
try replacing the thermostat
The gauge does not cause the heat; it only shows what it is.
Center of gauge. 180-220 FCenter of gauge. 180-220 F
Temperature gauge not moved and the fan's always are working
temperature gauge not working can be caused by a bad temp sensor in engine, a bad gauge in dash, or a bad fuse
A temperature gauge, that always read the maximum temperature, is usually not connected to the temperature sensor. The wire between the gauge and the sensor must be broken.
Just to the side of the thermostat housing.
