Get a new car................ -___-
your distributor is not set right. its probably in backwards by 180 degrese
U do that by fixing the EGR Valve OR the Vaccume hose going 2 it.
Bad thermostat, fans not working or coming on when they are supposed to, bad waterpump, bad radiator or radiator cap.
I need the pinout for a 1968 Pontiac Firebird hood tachometer. Specifically, the tach side connector. I have three wires coming from the engine side and seven off the tach. One broke off and can't immediately see where it was. Help?
Mine was making a knocking sound and I filled it up with premium gas. Sounds crazy but it actually stopped the valves from chattering. Might try it on your next fill up. 93 Octane.
Water pump Cooling fans not coming on Radiator dirty or plugged
If it has electric fans, make sure they are coming on when it get's hot. If not, then check the fuses and relays for them and power to the fans. Might just be a relay for the fans.
I had the problem on a 1994 with V6, sounds similiar. I think the problem stems from the safety locking mechanism that requires the brake pedal be depressed prior to shifting.
For the regular base model Firebird or Firebird with T-Top with the V6-3.4ltr. L32 Engine. Look under the hood, passenger side of engine. The EGR is right behind the Alternator. It sits on top of a big pipe (EGR Adapter) that comes straight up from the Exhaust Manifold and the whole assembly looks tower-like. It also has a triangle shaped wire connector on top and a smaller pipe (EGR Pipe) coming out of the side of it and ending up going into the Intake Plenum (the big "U" shaped thing on top of the motor). The Formula and TRANS AM both have a different EGR.
There isn't one, however there is a blower located on the passengers side where their right foot would be. It is held in place by 3 bolts, remove those and clean the blower and that should eliminate any foul odors coming in to the cabin.
The windshield is probally got a bad seal in it or its the heater core that's where i would start with those problems
