Conventional Mineral-based motor oil is the colour of liquid honey. In a clean engine, over the course of three to six months (check your manual for recommended oil-change intervals) the colour should not change significantly. It will darken slightly.
Synthetic oil is often black initially making it much harder to judge visually when to make a change. I suspect this is deliberate.
As engines age, they begin to shed metallic particulate; as oil-rings in the cylinder head age, they will allow exhaust gases to blow-back into the oil galley. These can make the oil look black and even opaque. Another thing to watch for is oil that looks creamy or milky, which generally indicates that water is leaking from the cooling jacket of the engine into the oil jacket. Ask your mechanic if he thinks an oil-flush is warranted. With an older car, it may simply be something you have to live with, so change your oil at the minimum recommended frequency to keep the engine safe.
Personal note: I give less credence to mileage driven and more to length of time and condition of oil. The quick-change oil-shops would love you to come in every 3000 miles (5000km) and keep them wealthy. Frankly, if the oil is still clean, it still does the job, unless you're in extremely moist conditions (jungle, anyone?) or doing a large number of short trips where the oil never gets up to a decent temperature to drive the regular moisture out of it.
As the additives wear out and the oil ages it will change to a dark brown color just like regular oil
Fish oil should not cause a change in the color of your bowels. It may affect how often you go to the bathroom.
No, but it is not the greatest thing to put on your hair.
when the oil on the dipstick changes color from a clearish golden brown to brown or black then you need to change your oi.
physical change hunnythe color would be the property of the oilbut as you can see the color changesthe chemicals do not
you would expect a color change in oil of wintergreen because it has an OH group added to the FeCl3 which causes a purple color
Honda says after 10 hours! But go by the color of the oil. Oil dosent get old, it gets dirty. So when its black chang it.
If you intend to keep your vehicle's engine clean, change it every time you change your oil. The filter holds the dirt your engine generates. Hence the dark color of your oil as it ages and is pumped through your engine. Dirt is dirt. Get it out.
not unless there is a significant color change in the oil, might be because of when the oil leaving the engine air is hitting it called aeration
You have water in your oil. Possibly from condensation. Run the engine only long enough to warm the oil and change it.
It is a physical change because the oil and the water do not change in chemical composition.
It might but i don't know exactly it can change your hair color if you use it a lot
