Ejjat is the 'gradient of respect'. It is a Hindi word which has no equivalent word in English. It is the hallmark of the Hindu society which has social ladder.

Each Hindu is utterly conscious of his Ejjat. It has infiltrated into other religions in India. Losing it is suicidal. Thereby it means that upon losing Ejjat one might even turn out to be homicidal - like Kali Maa who cuts human heads dripping blood - Hindus worship to get such strength; even commit such crimes and land up in jail.

No one can dare claim greater Ejjat than the Hindu Clergymen on the top of the social ladder.

Nehru upon getting offended by the British who turned him out of a British club during the Raj in spite of being Harrow (London) educated, began calling himself Pandit (signifies Hindu Clergyman) - Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru - to identify himself with the Hindu Clergymen who command the greatest Ejjat in the society. He meant - how dare British claim greater ejjat in his own country; hence, he would chase them away!

P.S. Ejjat is in Hindu social ladder (India) whereas Respect is in society tending to equality (Britain).

What are the differences between voltage and potential difference?

Voltage is the potential difference to the ground. By convention, ground potential is zero volt. The above answer is incorrect. 'Voltage', by definition, is potential difference. It has nothing to do with being measured with respect to ground -in fact potential difference (voltage) cannot be measured with respect to anything.
