England is a single country within Great Britain which also includes the countries of Wales and Scotland. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland includes the aforementioned countries along with Northern Ireland (the six northern counties of Ireland). Various other islands such as the Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Herm and Sark) and the Isle of Man are Crown Dependencies which have their own laws and are not considered part of the UK.
