cake yeast is fresh, comes in a little cake about 2x2 ( I do not know the weight). Dry yeast , which most people use, comes in envelope, kind of powdery. Fleishmans is the brand I am thinking of. Both are in the dairy isle. Can be interchanged if you know the amount needed in a recipe.
