What is the easiest way to change a heater core on a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup?

Pay someone else. This is about a ten - 12 hour job and requires taking the entire dash assembly out.

Before CHanging the Heater Core, have you tried flushing it? I have a 99' Jimmy and have to do this every year to get my heater to work.

Remove the wiring harness from the back of your 1998 Chevy Lumina heater motor. Remove the heater motor retaining bolts. Remove the fan from the front of the heater motor. Reverse the process to install the new heater.

A Ford Mustang does not have a heater coil. You must be thinking of your home HVAC.

You will need to remove the water supply hoses from your 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue heater core. Remove the heater core retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new heater core.

The entire dash assembly needs to be removed to gain access to the heater core. I would recomend purchasing a shop manual for that vehicle if you decide to do the job yourself.

drain coolant, disconect heater hose's, remove glove box, remove heater core cover, remove heater core. reverse order to reinstall.

From what I understand from an independent mechanic it is about $600.00 and rather involved.

The thermostat is not the issue. The thermostat regulates the engine temperature, but not the heater core temperature. There is a valve going to the heater core that is not closing all the way. It may be broken, clogged, or not actuating.

If there is no brake lights on a 1998 Mazda pickup, check the fuse. If the fuse has blown, the lights will not work.

if youre trying to turn the heater on and cold air comes out, then its most likely the heater core
