What is the easiest way to change the thermostat on a 1996 Chevy Lumina?

first you need to loosen the air filter box and remove it along with the throttle body (youll need a flat head screwdriver, plires, a 10mm deep socket and a 1/2 inch deep socket) then youll be able to get to the thermo, have a rag handy cuz theryll be fluid, the thermo is inside the horizontal pipe (note the position of the spring). reassemble.
