NO nothing hooks to it.
Then you have a BAD fuel pump. Replace the pump and filter. If it is higher then 63 LBS. then the fuel pressure regulator is bad.

YES. Bad fuel pump pressure can cause that problem too.
To find the misfire, check the crankshaft sensor on the 1999 suburban. Check for the proper fuel pressure, and check the ignition coils.
Fuel pressure should read no less then 9 LBS. and no more then 13 LBS. And yes it should hold the pressure with key on, engine off.
