13.8 gallons
I have an '86 G-20 van, it has a 33 gallon tank
Pull the one below the rear seat within the fuel tank. If rust is present then rust particles are clogging the inlet filter. Repair - drop fuel tank- boil (local radiator shop) or wash out with acid & seal with a fuel tank liner. Reinstall probably will need fuel pump and new fuel filter as a well
Mounted on top and inside the fuel tank.
Most likely
It should be in the Gas tank. Upon looking up the part a rockauto.com I found that it could also be an inline fuel pump, or possibly both. Start on the outside follow the fuel line and see if you can find it, then work on the tank. The '86 Cab has two fuel pumps, one is external outside the gas tank by the right rear wheel, the other is inside the tank under the right rear seat. The internal pump may fail, causing hesitation and jolting especially during shifting.
In the fuel tank the acsess panel is under the passenger rear seat.
Its inside the fuel tank. You can either drop the tank and pull it out or cut a hole through the back deck lid. That's what i would do.
I have an 86 t-bird 3.8 liter and need to know how to drop the fuel tank. I need to know where to disconnect all lines and connections to the tank. thanks
it is on the dash board by the heater and ac. it says front fuel rear.
THE FUEL PUMP FLOAT HAS GONE BAD OR THE GAUGE NEEDS TO BE CHECKED
you must remove the bed its the only way
If the engine is fuel injected, it is an electric pump and is located in the fuel tank. If not, it is located on the engine block and is a mechanical pump.
