Rennin enzyme helps in the coagulation of milk in the stomach of a young mammal. The milk should be coagulated (milk curdling) in order for it to stay longer in the stomach, and be acted by peptidases or proteases.

Yes renin is an enzyme and it is used in the renin-angiotensin system to increase the blood pressure in the body, it converts angiotensinogen (already present in the blood) to angiotensin I which is converted to angiotensin II by another enzyme ACE present in the respiratory capillaries in higher concentrations than in other parts of the body. Angiotensin II increases the blood pressure.

People also call it a hormone, but it is functionally classified as an enzyme.

There is also another enzyme called rennin, which is an enzyme used in digestion in the GI tract, don't get them confused
