The fuel efficiency of my 2004 Volvo V70 2.5T varies depending on how we drive it. I tend to baby it around town, decelerating only enough to be safe going around turns, and taking advantage of downhill coasting opportunities. My wife drives a little more conventionally, thus offsetting some of my gains. That said, it gets driven mostly around town, on shorter trips, with a few highway and interstate trips thrown in, and the average is always around 18.5 miles per gallon. On the highway, alone, we regularly get 30 miles per gallon, but that often involves drafting behind trucks (dangerous) and coasting downhill at speeds in excess of 65 miles per hour.
I have a 1998 Volvo v70 t5 and i get about 31 on the highway and about 20 in town.
A stock Volvo V70 has a horsepower of 300. This is based of the 2004 version of the car. This is considered to be a high number in the horsepower of an average car.
