A crocodile's habitat is a tropical or subtropical river or swamp. They need prey animals, such as fish and turtles, or they need larger vertebrates that will come to the water's edge to drink.
Crocodiles are found in southeast Asia, northeastern Australia, most of sub-Saharan Africa, and the Americas.
Crocodiles commonly inhabit wetlands, lakes and rivers, especially in biomes where long grass is dispensable, as many of crocodiles' prey live there, like impalas.
what are the short term and long term effects of introducing alligators to a rainforest.
Crocodiles live in ALL tropical countries!
they mostly live in moist areas
crocodiles are found in swamps , rivers ,lakes etc.....these are freshwater crocodiles...saltwater crocodiles also exist...they live on the sea coast...
Swamps and swamp-like lakes. They like murky water to stay hidden from prey to sneek up on it and attack. Dun-dun-duhhhhh....
What is the habitat for a crocodile?
alligators have 2 foot long penises. Nile crocodiles have 3 foot long penises. They need big ones for aquatic reproduction
well, Alligators need lots of living space because of the teritorial rights
Alligators and Crocodiles are very dormant species, and spend most of the day sleeping on the riverbanks or strolling effortlessly along the water. Average sleeping time is probably 6 - 8 hours at a time - they do need to eat, after all!
Yes, both Alligators and Crocodiles have a digestive system. They are said to have some if the most acidic stomachs in the animal kingdom as they eat animals whole; bones, skin and horns alike. Therefore they need to be able to process the entire meal.
Alligators have wider snouts than crocodiles; only their upper set of teeth can be seen because their upper jaw is larger than their lower; they tend to be darker in colour; there are two species of Alligator - the American Alligator and the Chinese Alligator (which is smaller than the American Alligator); the average size for an American Alligator is 14.5FT and their average weight is 650 pounds. Alligators have jaws designed to crush bone, and their bite force is 3000PSI (pounds per square inch), making their jaws the most powerful (after the saltwater and nile crocodile, which have a bite force of over 5000PSI). Alligators most distant relative are caimans, who look exactly like alligators but have a bony ridge, and are usually smaller (although the Black Caiman is bigger than the American Alligator, and some species of crocodile). Generally, alligators are not as fierce and aggressive as crocodiles, and alligators can be found in both China and North America :) Hope this helped :)
Crocodiles and alligators live in tropical and sub tropics they need warmth plus in warmer climets there is much more food they are large animal so they need enough food to get more energy and so they survive.
Alligators and crocodiles do not head to sewers.plus it is to hot and cold for them to live there.they need prey and saltwater or freshwater to live in sewers.they would have to eat rats.they need rocks to grind up their teeth too.if they have young the young would die.NO ALLIGATORS AND CROCODILES DO NOT HEAD TO THE SEWERS ,THAT WAS A MYTH OF THE LONG LOST CRICKEY THE ALLIGATOR.
they need suitable habitat
alligators have 2 foot long penises. Nile crocodiles have 3 foot long penises. They need big ones for aquatic reproduction
It might be possible under some circumstances. Some crossbreeding has occurred between different types of crocodiles. It might be possible to breed an alligator with a crocodile. To have viable offspring, it might be necessary to try a number of different crocodiles. Two types of alligators exist, the American and the Chinese. Both live in fresh water. Neither has the salt removal glands of a crocodile. You would need to start with a fresh water crocodile. That leaves out a number of crocodiles. Then you need to take your animals and get them to breed. Maybe an egg or two will hatch. On the funny side: No. I cannot breed a crocodile with an alligator. I stay as far away from both of them as I can!
they need food, water, warmth, a habitat and health
Alligators are reptiles.. they are cold-blooded, and need the sun for its heat.
There are no crocodiles in the Okefenokee Swamp - just American Alligators.
There are three related species - crocodile, alligator and ghariyal. Crocodiles have active lingual (on tongue) glands that can secrete salt - these glands are present also in alligators but aren't active. That's why crocodiles can live in the ocean where alligators can't survive for long (ghariyal is a purely freshwater species with no such gland at all).Though the crocodiles are poor swimmers, the larget living reptile, called the estuarine crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) can ride sea waves and cross the sea to another nearby land area. They live in mangrove forests or estuaries near the seashore.
