Derived from a medicinal flower in the Philippines called 'KalaChuchi'. It is of the plant family Apocynaceae and in America often known as a 'Plumeria' acuminata. It is also known as Frangipani (Europe), Flor de Mayo (Mexico), Temple flower (parts of Asia and England), Mian zhi zi (China) and some other places as 'Da ji hua'. It is sometimes made into a soap and is mentioned in folklore and songs worldwide.
