How do I replace the alternator on my 1999 Kia Sportage
It's a sensor that tells the computer if there is a rod knock in your engine.
crankshaft sensor is on the right rear corner drivers side of the engine.
good luck i think it is behind the block on the left u have to take off your whole intake to get to it
The timing chain is probably "slapping". It is a common problem with this otherwise excellent engine. If you have the chain replaced, be sure to use the after market available tensioner. I put one in mine. Works great. - john
If its the engine knockins their is no connection just a quicondense. If the knocking is in the rear could be a cracked rotor or something.
If it is deep in the engine, the engine may need repaired/replaced.
