It is very hard to tell especially with the GSD. Because this breed is too famous and for the same reason is one of the most popular Dog Breeds in the USA. The main reason is that GSD were bred widely by too many breeders and more than 50% of those breeders are disqualified back yard breeders, so the quality of each individual GSD will be substantially different. More over, GSD breed has been bred to used in many different tasks and they also appear to be different sizes. Therefore the bite forces of GSD may varied depends on individual, for example, a special military GSD who was bred for many generations to obtain the strongest bite force possible will probably has a bite force far stronger than a wolf or even a matiff.
In general, a well bred German shepherds may have a bite pressure of upto 450 lbs on average. But a special individual military german shepherds can have up to 800 lbs, partly depends on how big the dog is and what purpose it was bred for.
An anatolian shepherd (or Turkish Kangal) has the strongest jaws in the dog world. 743 lbs !!! that is even stronger than a wolf , these dogs often (every day) kill wolves in Turkey. they are also able to kill a bear , even lions !
jaw/jaw bone idiot
yes basically. A fracture is a crack in the jaw a break is actually broken but i'd say there the same thing x :)
The medical term meaning pertaining to the upper jaw is maxillary.
no
200 - 480lbs generally, they have a very strong jaw.
No. A wolf has a stronger jaw and a wider body than a german shepherd.
Some candidates for the title of "breed with the greatest bite force" include the Rottweiler, The Mastiff, the Kangal, and the Hungarian Kuvasz. It is not easy to measure the exact, maximum jaw pressure of these animals.
No dog has the ability to lock their jaw when biting. “Lock jaw” is a medical condition where ANY dogs mouth can lock when opening wide. It is not breed specific.
Pit Bull Bite: 235 pounds of force Rottweiler: 328 pounds of force In comparison… German Shepherd: 238 pounds of force Lion: 691 pounds of force Hyena: 1000 pounds of force

No dog has a locking jaw. Their jaw may be powerful but NO breed can lock it's jaw. (Not even a pit bull or other bully breed)
How come your jaw become small when pressure is applied? No,it do not make your jaw bone smaller. The high pressure may make your muscles contract and make them stiff leading to less jaw movement. So you might get a feeling of smaller jaw.
Of course the German Shepherd. They weigh up to 40Kg, compared to boxers weighing up to 32Kg; German Shepherds have a longer jaw with a bite force of 238psi, whereas the Boxers is 200psi; German Shepherds are more aggressive and would 9 times out of ten tear a boxer to pieces
a german shepherd has a long muzzle with a bite force of 300 plus PSI depends on the dogs size and with training u can increase the dogs bite force like any dog. The bite force of a shepherd is more then a bulldog, pitbull , shepherd have a bigger mouth then these other breeds so gives u more PSI.
Because bite force is correlated to the size of the head and jaw, the bigger the head, the bigger the bite. Chalk one up for the German Shepherd here, as it is larger than the pitbull and therefore has a larger bite. However, in a fight, it would be a bit of a different story. Bite force counts for nothing if you cannot land that bite. The pitbull is more compact and has a lower center of gravity, so it stands a good chance against the semi-lanky, lighter-framed German Shepherd. The situation depends entirely on the situation and the animals at hand. Hope this helped!
You could have pressure in your lower jaw for several reasons. It could be that you pulled a muscle in it somehow, or it was in the wrong position for too long.
