English is the most prevalent language in the United States, followed by Spanish and then American Sign Language. Because, however, the United States was and still is a country of immigrants, there are many, many languages being spoken. I'd wager that there are families in the USA that speak one of the major languages of the world.
There are also Native American tribes and linguists who speak various Native American languages.
If you want to be around people speaking many languages, go to a busy city, like New York City, and take a look at how many people are speaking different languages!
