The battle of the roses was between York house and Lancaster house. York's house symbol was a white rose and Lancaster's was a red rose. Lancaster had the throne but York thought they weren't the right full leaders so the declared war. Then in 1485 Henry VII Of Lancaster marched 5,000 men to Bosworth and at the same time Richard of York marched out 8,000 men. Henry Won the battle making him the king.
