Boot Camp Assistant.
"Boot Camp" is basically just a set of drivers for Windows to use Apple's hardware and installs software to update the drivers automatically when needed and a way to boot back to the Mac side with out having to hold down the Option key every time.
Windows programs require the Windows operating system to be installed on a Mac. Windows can be installed (using the Boot Camp utility) and the Mac restarted so it is just running Windows like any other computer running Windows or it can be run in a virtual machine (using Parallels or Fusion etc.) which will put Windows in a Window on top of Snow Leopard. Yes it is possible, if you migrating from Windows XP or its lower version than a utility tool is ran which make backup of all the program installed
