God is considered to be Omnipotent and Omnipresent by Hindus.

There are more than 200,000 gods and goddesses in the Hindu religion. Some are major deities with major duties such as Shiva, others are of lesser import and are more directly connected with specific duties such as the house or ancestors.

Google "Hindu Gods" to find websites that list the deities of Hinduism.

NATURE OF GOD IN HINDUISM:

In Hinduism, the nature of god forms a complete spectrum.

1. At one end of this spectrum, like in other religions, god is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient and abstract.

2. It is at the other end that the nature of god in Hinduism is totally different from nature of god in any other religion, making one wonder whether Hinduism is really a religion.

According to Manu Smriti 1.11, god is both real and unreal! However, this fact would make sense to Hindus who have attained Moksha and not to others.

According to Manu Smriti 1. 19 and 1.20 and Rigveda 1.10.90-15, Purusha and thus Brahman, is made of seven basic gods.

Though not mentioned any Hindu scripture, we can conclude that the seven basic Hindu gods are,

1. Indra - god of dreaming

2. Shakti - god of illusion

3. Brahma - god of creativity

4. Vishnu - god of stabilization

5. Shiva - god of determination

6. Shani - god of status alteration

7. Yama - god of compulsion.

These are specialist gods and thus none of them is omnipotent, omnipresent or omniscient.

All the seven Hindu gods are made of

1. Facilitating force - Saguna Brahman

2. Retarding force - Nirguna Brahman

The Nirguna Brahman component of gods is what we call goddess.

HINDU GODS AND ETERNAL FACTS:

At the factual end of the spectrum of the nature of gods, Hindu gods are directly compatible with science.

Purusha is the isometric component of our skeletal muscular system, acting as as single unit.

Saguna Brahman is isometrically contracted Purusha and Nirguna Brahman is isometrically relaxed Purusha.

The seven gods are nothing but Isometric contraction of Purusha towards seven points in our body.

They are,

1. Feet - Indra

2. Knees - Shakti

3. Hips - Brahma

4. Abdomen - Vishnu

5. Chest - Shiva

6. Neck - Shani

7. Head - Yama.

The most reliable, fastest and easiest way of appeasing Hindu gods is through Vedic meditation, a set of isometric exercises.

The Vedas are based on Vedic meditation.

How many Gods does India have?

It's a very tricky question. You could say there's only 1 god or unlimited. The gist of Hinduism is that - God doesn't have a form, a personality. God doesn't think, God doesn't doesn't posses those qualities that the Bible and Quran hold. The gist of Hinduism states that everything is God. Life, Mother Nature, the very fact that Laws of Nature exists, senses, energy, force, chi; that is what God is. Not some ultimate single entity that governs and decides our fates. We all are a part of a living breathing universe and what keeps us running is God. When we are at complete realization with this fact, we feel competed. Buddha himself, took this same essence after he found that the Hindu philosophy was lost due to all the misinterpretations.
