Wheatley is an Old-English name; it means wheat field. It has Anglo-Saxon and Norman history from West-Yorkshire, Lancashire and Oxfordshire. I am a Wheatley from west Yorkshire who's family history goes a long way back if you know when your ancestors left England you may be able to trace them through the Census and possibly the doomsday (pronounced Dom's Day) book.
