When Adam and Eve were created, where did God put them? On Earth. Had Adam not eaten the forbidden fruit, Where would he be today? Alive and well right here on earth. Why did God create a universe so vast that it is endless and it is made out matter? He created the endless universe for mankind because humans are supposed to live for all of eternity in a fleshly form. We were never meant to die. The only reason death came upon humanity is because Adam ate the forbidden fruit. (Genesis 2: 17) The sacrifice of Jesus Christ is to buy us back from the condition of death and restore humanity back to its originally intended condition. (Romans 5:19) That is eternal life as a perfected person of flesh living on a paradise earth. Read Psalms 37:9-11, 29. Ask yourself, "What will my world look like?" once all of the prophecies in Psalm 37 come true. Explore this understanding very carefully. Death and heaven are not part of our original design by God. Had Adam not sinned, he would still be here today on a paradise earth. That in itself says a lot about what God's purpose is for mankind. To find out more, put the link below together. ↓

Sheol. It's where you stay before the resurrection on the last day. It's used alot in Psalms, depending on what version you use, also in Job and other chapters. If you want to know the versions that include this words HCSB is one and i think another is YLT.

he place before we go to heaven is called earth and the place where heaven is also called earth. Heaven is not a place like New Delhi, New York or New Zealand, heaven is what we experience after death, when we take a new birth. Heaven depends on our actions - whether we go to heaven or hell, depends on what we do. The scripture says, as you sow, so shall you reap, just like the seeds decide the fruit on the tree, our deeds decide our destiny. But the physical body is cremated or buried, we don't go anywhere, the Divine Soul departs but ME, the Mind and the Ego is reborn in a new body and we experience heaven and hell based on our actions, we have to realize this Truth.

If you were an ancient Greek, it would be the river Styx. The custom of placing coins with the deceased arose to guarantee they would have the toll required to pay the ferryman - lest the poor soul never be allowed passage into the afterlife.

What is Islam? What ...

When the body is buried in the ground, two Angels named Munkar and Nakeer ask the deceased three questions:

Who is your Lord?

What is your Religion?

Who was that man (Muhammad) sent amongst you?

Answering these questions correctly and truthfully will fill the grave with pleasurable things. However, answering them incorrectly or with hypocrisy will result in the deceased person being punished in the grave. The person thereafter remains in his or her grave till the Hour is established. The souls are rewarded and punished in accordance to their belief and deeds. On the Day of Judgement all the bodies will be physically resurrected and the souls returned back to them. Then they will be judged in accordance to their belief, worship and deeds. The righteous believers in Paradise and the unbelievers in Hell. Allah stated: “They will in the Gardens of delight. A multitude will be from the first generations who embraced Islam. And a few will be from the later times. They will be seated on thrones woven with gold and precious stones. Reclining upon them, face to face with one another. They will be served by immortal youth with cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine – they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. And can have fruit that they choose and the flesh of game bird that they desire. And there will be for them fair females with wide, lovely eyes as wives for the pious. They will be like unto preserved pearls. A reward for the good they used to do. There will be no filth, false or evil talk therein, nor any backbiting, slander or tale-carrying” (The meanings of the Qur’anic verses from Surat Al-Wāqi`ah (The Inevitable) 56:12-25

If you are a Catholic, you will believe that souls go to purgatory before ascending to heaven.

AnswerAccording to biblical text the place you go to before going to heave is called earth. There is no biblical in-between where souls are sent after death as a matter of fact in the book of Ecclesiastes 12:7 which was written about flesh man, you find the following. "Then shall the dust return to the Earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

There is however a separation which takes place once your soul arrives in heaven, upon your death. That account is written in the book of Luke chapter 16 starting about verse 20. There we learn that those who's works were not acceptable go to the other side of the great gulf fixed. They can see heave from that point but can not cross over to get to it. There is a lengthy discussion with Abraham and a wealthy man who had little to no good deeds to his name when he passed away. Be sure to translate the words of those verses in Luke, using a Greek Strong's concordance/dictionary and don't simply assume their meaning.

There is a period of 1000 years of teaching which takes place under Christ and his elect which is defined in Revelation chapter 20 and which occurs after the defeat of anti-christ (satan playing the role of the false prophet). Those on the other side of the great gulf fixed, might be able to be redeemed at that time.

Another Answer:

From Genesis to Revelation, there is no other place for the dead called Purgatory or Limbo. These are teachings of men and not The Bible. The Scripture tells us that all will die and most all (except the firstfruits who are judged in the lifetimes) will be called to Judgement by Christ after the Millennial Rule (Ecclesiastes 12:7). Have you ever asked yourself why have a judgement process if someone has already received their reward/punishment at the time of their death?

There are 3 Resurrections spoken of in the Scripture: the first is the firstfruits who will become the eternal bride of Christ - Jesus said the 2nd death had no way to impact these; the second is for the vast majority of mankind referred to as the Great White Throne Judgement; and the last of the relative few incorrigible who refuse to repent or had received God's Holy Spirit in their lifetimes and gave it up to continue their old sinful ways - referred to as the Unpardonable Sin.

Good question.

Catholocism says that a soul will enter purgatory before ascending to heaven to attone for your sins.

I believe that you go straight to heaven when you die. There are so many near-death experiences that children have had that they arrive in heaven and meet someone that they didn't even know had existed, therefore proving that everyone meets up in heaven. If you don't believe me, read the book 'Heaven is for Real' by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent, which was written about Colton Burpo and his trip to heaven and back.

Where is a place for souls not worthy of heaven but not meant for hell?

For Catholics the place is called purgatory. Souls wait there, atone for their wicked ways before entering heaven. Protestants believe in a similar place but it is refered to as Abraham's Bosom. This Bosom is directly opposite of Sheol or Hades as it is sometimes called, divided by a great chasm that cannot be crossed from either way. The Gospels tell of Jesus' desent into hell and retrieving waiting souls from the Bosom before sending them to heaven. Whoever now is in Abraham's Bosom waiting came after Christ's death.
