I'm definitely no mechanic but, i have a 1979 ford f100 with the original 302 in it and it doesn't have points.
.027 is the point gap.
.017" to .019"

In a 1969 Mustang , 302 with 2 barrel carburetor , the point gap is ( .017 with automatic transmission ) and ( .021 with manual transmission )
If the 360 is in a F100 the point gap is .021. If the 360 is in a F250 or bigger the point gap is .017.

The 1977 does not have points , it is electronic ignition Ford calls their 300 cubic inch straight 6 a 4.9 L and their 302 cubic inch V8 a 5.0 L to keep things from being mixed up

According to the Chilton's Collector's Edition 1972-1979 Auto Repair Manual, the 302 is a 1972 motor and the point gap is .017. The point dwell is 26-30 degrees.
Let me know the type of heads you are putting on the 302 and if they are 2V or 4V heads and if possible what type of vehicle was this 302 originally in. Spark plug gap for my 2V truck is .044
