Take the car to the dealer and have it serviced. The light is for a reason. 1) Turn key to to position II 2) Push and hold odometer reset button 3) Turn key to off position 4) Turn key back on to pos II 5) After 10 - 15 sec light goes off, release reset button 6) Yes, the light is there for a reason - to remind you to perform the required maintenance on your car. It will also indicate trouble. If you reset it and there is still trouble, it will come back on. Take it in for service in that case. This procedure also worked on our 2003 Honda Accord.

Press and hold the odometer reset button while at the same time turning the ignition switch to on. Do not start the engine. After around 5 seconds the maintenance required light will go out.

The Maintenance Required Light is not the same as the Check Engine Light. The Maintenance Required Light is telling you that there is scheduled maintenance that needs to be performed. It may mean it needs an oil/filter change. To find out what needs to be done look at the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual.

This information is listed in your owners manual. Try holding the odometer reset button in while turning on the ignition. Wait for the light to go out. This may or may not work. It works on my 2004 Accord.
