Incorrect. A woman's corsage is worn on her right shoulder. A man's boutonniere is worn on his left. Remember it like this. When your parents dance like they do on "Dancing with the Stars" a woman's right arm is extended to the man's left. So a corsage goes on a woman's right shoulder so it doesn't get crushed. That is the correct spelling of "corsage" (worn flower decoration).
Corsage stems most definitely down. If you bend your head and the corsage is on a lapel, the stems can stick you in the chin.
