First remove primary chain cover then remove 3 inch stud holding starter pinoin on,(has lock tab,7/16 spanner) then remove positive battery cable & solinoid wire from starter, then remove the 2 mounting studs & it should come straight out, I fitted new solinoid contacts to mine today, 18/ July/ 08, good luck, HB, Australia
remove seat and theres youre battery on any harley im aware of It all depends. On mine (1988 FLHS) it is located on the right side next to the oil tank, under a fiberglass panel. Getting to it on a V-Rod requires removal of the seat, flase gas tank, air filter, kitchen sink.... yada yada... It depends on the model.
