The Olympian of cats?
You may be looking towards different criteria, but when we think of strength, we think of muscle mass and the overall size dimensions of the kitty. Weight would have little to do with the basis of your question, but domestic cats can be horribly over-fed and become the size of what we used to call a 19" TV, but since those are all but gone, I guess I'll have to come up with another analogy or comparative. How about the size of a small microwave. No, bad form mentioning cats in the same sentence. The biggest recorded domestic cat was 46 lbs, so says the Guinness Book, but most weigh 7-9 lbs.
There is a Maine Coon that lives in Chicago that weighs in at 35 lbs, and his length from nose to tail is an astounding 48". His name is Verismo Leonetti Reserve Red, but his friends just call him Leo.
As far as the strongest cat? I think it might be our male Torbie named Sgt. Buddy, aka: Catzilla. He is 19 lbs and is not fat. When you pick him up, it feels like you are carrying a Honey Baked Ham. Solid muscle.
Otherwise, no, I don't think they have any Weightlifting or track & field events at the Cat Olympics... just sleeping and purring- those are the featured medal events.
The Maine Coon is the biggest biggest Domestic cat breed. The males are usually around 15 to 25lbs, and the females are between 10 to 15lbs.
If you Google it you will see that it is the tiger that is the strongest of the cat family.
