What is the firing order on a 1993 saturn sl2 twin cam?

Saturns 91-02 are distributorless engines and therefore have no ignition timing adjustments.

this can sometimes be a confusing answer, I will try to clearify it as much as i can. According to Saturn timing specifications, the internal fireing order for the Saturn 1.9L motor, both Single overhead cam, or Twin cam is as follows: Left to right 1-3-4-2 If you are routing spark plug wires, and need to know the order of wires from the coils to the engine, the order is as follows: Left to right 4-1-2-3

Kindly check your user manual to see a detailed instruction on how to set the timing on a twin cam Mazda 626 four cylinder.

Not necessarily ,but if this is an "interference motor " and it probably is being a twin cam, it is" probable " if the cam timing has "jumped " very much.

you can't : On the '97 Twin cam engine the cam chain tensioner depends on oil pressure. I had a problem that with 200,000 miles the chain had stretched farther than the tensioner could handle and had to replace the cam chain.

The timing chain cover IS the oil pump. You need to remove the dampener pulley (that's the pulley that drives the serpentine belt) then you can remove the timing chain cover/oil pump.

Timing Chain.. and it's DOHC, Double Over Head Cam or also called Twin Cam

How do I replace the water pump in my 1994 Saturn SL2 series standard twin cam.

the timing marks on the cam sprockets need to lined up. I would not attempt this repair if you don't know what you're doing. If the timing is off and you rotate the engine, you can cause severe damage to your valves.

Yes. The '95 and '92 Saturns used the same single and twin cam engines.

A single cam (SOHC) has 1 cam per cylinderhead and a twin cam(DOHC) has 2 per cylinder head. A DOHC (dual over head cam) has a higher RPM potential due to lower valvetrain mass, Int/Exh. timing can be changed, but is more expensive to produce.

In the twin cams i have worked on, the guilty one is either a broken cam, or a bent valve.Something like that should be consulted by your local repair shop.

The timing in a Saturn is not adjustable. The ignition timing is computer controlled by the Ignition control module located underneith your coil packs. if there is an issue with engine valve timing, you must replace all timing components, ie... timing cam gears, crank gear, hydralic tentioner and guides.

There is no cam belt it is driven by a chain.

It has a cam chain that normally requires no maintenance.

.....what about it? There is one. Dealer has premolded ones also
