Depends on whether you can hear the sound with it parked and running or you have to be driving down the road. Need more information. Aerostars hum when just running due to noisy Power Steering (normal) or the fuel pump (normal). If the noise increases when you turn the steering wheel right or left then its the power steering. I have owned 3 Aerostars so far & this sounds familiar. My 2 previous Aerostars had a diff. problem where they hummed under load. The last one was so loud that when we were on the highway, I would have to take my foot off the gas pedal to hear my kids talking to me from the back seats. I have avoided that problem so far on my latest one by replacing the diff. oil with synthetic gear oil. I bought this one ('97) with 148,000 Kms. & it now has over 330,000 Kms. & no hum from the rear end so far.
There can be a slight humming noise while driving a neon. This sound could come purely from the engine to indicate that it is running.
Bad wheel bearing
Wheel bearing.
it could be your tires on the pavement.
because something is about to break.
Could be a bearing going bad.
No. The loud humming noise could be a wheel bearing going bad and it could damage the ABS sensor if allowed to continue.
Have you checked your transmission fluid? Try that Cindy
bad wheel bearings will do that, usually in the front.
I have heard that if you have papers or napkins in the glove compartment box they can get sucked into the air vent which then makes a humming noise that you can hear while driving and as you increase the speed the pitch of the noise gets louder.
the humming noise is coming from a bad ground on you stereo
Certain types of tires may cause a brief humming noise after your initial acceleration. The transmission may also cause a brief humming noise.
