All three of them are Latin American countries. Besides that, they don't have that much in common:

  • Form of government: Brazil and Mexico have a Federal Republic; Cuba is a communist state.
  • Language: Mexico and Cuba speak Spanish; Brazilian people speak Portuguese.
  • Economy: Brazil is ranked as the 9th largest economy in the world, while Mexico is the 11th and Cuba is the 62nd.
  • Geographic location: Mexico is in North America, Cuba is in the Caribbean and Brazil is in South America.

All three are republics.

However, while Mexico and Brazil are federal presidential representative republics (just like the United States), Cuba is a socialist state whereas the government is linked to a single political party -- in this case the Cuban Communist Party.
