Many different things can cause a rattling noise in a Mazda tribute. Stark by checking the engine belts and all brackets for anything that could be loose and causing a rattle.

Could be a number of things. Is the noise coming from your transmission, your rear differential, one of the wheels? From the wheels it could be a warped rotor or a wheel bearing failing.
Just to answer the reply to my question. no there is no smoke at all and there is no signs of oil in the coolant. there dose seem to be oil on the side of the engine around the exaust manifold.. but its not a whole engines worth of oil..
