Check the carborator, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pickup tank unit. If all are ok then replace the coil and check test light for power with key on for power to hot side coil. If all else fails call your local garage for an appointment to your 305 cheby.

check the brushes if you are getting dc out of the drive and the motor doesnt start the motor should also have full field to start with an extreme overload even a permanent magnet can be discharged or reversed this is assuming the pwm drive is ok
express 3500 chevy van tries to start but doesnt. when cranking stopped the engine rumbles. getting fuel can smell it.
have the ignition check to see if its worn. if the theftlock/passlock system doesnt recognize the key it wont let it start
remove the distributor cap. turn the motor by hand and watch the rotor on the distributor. once it moves turn the motor the other way. if rotor on distributor doesnt move amost imidiately after you start tuning motor by hand the chain has some stretch in it and most likely should be replaced. the motor will run noticably better with a good tight chain. if its a factory chain with nylon gears it is junk anyways. replace it with a quality metal geared set.
no,v6 dizzy will not work in straight line to start with the shaft is shorter on v6
You can bet on it NOT being a roller engine if it is a FACTORY 92 engine. Chevy didn't start using roller engines until late 1996.
look on your fuel rail near the motor there is a bleeder to remove the air
