Hi, problem with alarm and central locking and power windows on 93 94 Corrado is often caused by a fuse located abovethe fuse and relay panel ,very well hidden , cheers
Leave driver's door open when replacing the battery. It's when upon installation of battery, you open driver's door and the alarm activates, right? Leave door open during installation. Same goes when you are charging up the battery, leave door open.
there is a reset button by the hood release but on the left side when you are sitting in the drivers seat. hold the button while turning the key. -----August 25, 2011 First of all, thank you. I followed the advice above. Yes there is a toggle switch next to the hood release. I also lost my remote for the alarm and when I replaced the battery the alarm went off. I followed the advice as soon as I hook up the battery, with the key in the ignition (ON) setting I flip the toggle switch a few times. This enabled to reset the alarm and I was able to start the car.
well i have a viper 5000 and i changed the battery and nothing changed im not sure about other viper alarms though
Car alarm in Lexus ES300 started going off at random when car was parked, not running. I changed the key fob battery (flat watch battery) with a new battery and it fixed the problem.
That is actually a door switch problem instead of an alarm problem. Find the door that is not registering as closed and check out the little switch by the hinges, you might just need to spray it with some WD40.
My battery went dead. I am trying to jump start the 97 landcrusier and the alarm is going off. I did not set the alarm The car sat in the garage for two weeks and battery is dead. Alarm is set and I need to get it of to start the car via cables. help George We have a 96 Land Cruiser. The battery went dead and we dealt with the same problem when trying to recharge the battery. We discovered a toggle switch on the drivers side under the dash below the hood latch and gas levers. Flip that switch and you should be good to go. Apparently it resets the alarm.
Your alarm needs to be reset. Look in the manual for instructions. The alarm was probably arms when you changed the battery an now the alarm computer is thinking that it is being triggered by the ignition.
If your alarm system beeps periodically, it may need a new battery. If you look inside the main control box you will find a 12 volt battery. If you switch this out with a new one your beeping problem should be solved.
I have the same problem with a 1997 Chevy Van. The problem seems to be that GM states that a 50 milliamp draw will kill the battery, and that the alarm system is < 50 milliamp, but I can find out how much less. I have killed several batteries because of this. Now the trick is to put in a new battery. When you connect a new battery, the alarm goes off. To prevent this, with the new battery disconnected, turn the key in the ignition to ON. Make sure the door is closed, and then connect the battery. This prevents the alarm from going off. What I did was to install a battery disconnect switch that I use when the van is sitting for more than a week. Now after it has been sitting for awhile, I go out, put in the key, flip the battery switch, hop back in and the car starts.

All kinds of crazy stuff can happen.
There is a little hanging button by the fuse panel. It is the reset switch for the alarm. Press the button and start car normally.
