the ignition switch is the key and its on the stering collem or on the dash
the cylinder closest to timing belt, or passenger side according to vw site elsewhere.
if your handle is broken, you will need to fish with a hook.... its quite difficult but possible.

The ignition switch is located inside the steering coulum below the key and tumbler.
the OBD connector is an electrical port when you can tap into the car with a diagnostic scanner and find the source of that check engine light. its located uner the shift boot and cover near the oil pressure and volt gauge.
The ignition switch is in the steering column..that's where you insert the key to start the vehicle.

The key and tumbler are on the side of the column. There is a rod that goes down the column to the ignition switch. It is accessed on top of the column and half way down.
on the top side of the steering column under the dash
on a hose entering the water pump, accessible from the bottom (close to passenger wheel well). you'll need to take off power steering bracket to access it. its held by 2 screws.
