To hold their spine, to help camouflage them
I think so
Turtle shells are a part of a turtle's body! A shell is basically made of bones (60 meshed together) and their spine is actually embedded into its shell. Contrary to what they show in cartoons, turtles can't take of their shell any more than you can take off your skin.
Box turtles are easily recognized by their box-like shells. Because of the box-like structure, the turtle is able to fit completely inside its shell.
Much like any other turtle, sea turtles are larger than their land cousins and have feet that are like flipper that allow them to swim with ease. See Link below for many examples/images of sea turtles. It has beautiful scales. has a greenish color to it. very unique animal that God made for us
There is no other purpose for them building the wall other than protection :)
well snapping turtles are a little harder to get along with than most turtles but other than snappers if you feed the turtle and be a good owner to it than it will be easy to get along with.
None of the turtles I've felt were scaly, their shell was smooth and kind of glossy. It might be a bit rough, especially if they have an injury that is healing, but other than that, not scaly. Unless they were real dirty and then it was grity, or muddy, but not scaly, like a fish or snake rubbed against their grain.
Sea turtles release their droppings in the ocean. Land turtles mostly drop it anywhere they are. But some species select certain locations (sand, grass) and avoid dropping on the paths they normally travel.
Turtles have the following protections:a hard shell that is hard to bite throughtough scales that are hard to bite throughcan hold their breath under water for a long time to avoid land predatorscan leave the water to escape water predators
Why would you want to paint a turtle's shell anyway - unless it's for identification. A more sensible procedure would be micro-chipping ! It's permanent and doesn't wash off ! Anyway - to answer the question - so long as you use lead-free & solvent-free paint it shouldn't harm the turtle.
sea turtles are relatively largeer than other turtles. they do bury their eggs like other species of turtles. there are manyothers but these are just a few. sorry if this didnt help.
"Suthan ate them, ate them ALL "Pathetic !I must say that has got to be the most pathetic answer in history! Anyway as for a proper answer, they became endangered when medicines were made by turtles, also when they decided to use there shells as something other than clothing and making jewelry pieces out of them.
