you are better off trying to find the same year and size as you have most 83-84-86-87 will fit but you will run into a lot of problems if you do not put in same year because some 84-85 engins are fuel injected and some are not and most of the wiring and vacume lines are different to so although theengine will fit right in you will be trying to get it all together for a while

Yes, these engines are interference engines. The valves may hit the pistons when belt breaks/jumps time. Don't put off changing timing belts on these kind of engines.

It is no more difficult to put a drive belt on a 1985 Chevy Celebrity than it is in most other cars. Just loosen the driven device, move the adjustment in and remove the belt then replace in the reverse order. Of course if the belt you want to replace is the inside most position you will have to go through the process on the outer belts to get to the inner belts, but that is true on any vehicle.

You can only swap an engine of a Civic Hatchback with an engine of a newer car. Its only legal to swap in engines of the same or newer OBD series. So the Civic engine you swap with has to be a 94 or newer but any of those engines will fit.

you can do anything if you want it bad enough. but yes you can. the 1985 S10 4x4 blazers came with 4 cylinder engines. I know because my parent bought one. it was sorely under powered though.
