What kind of car? What year? Must be more specific.
ANSWER i don't believe ther is a fuse on the sending unit due to the fuel pump getting its power from the oil pressure switch cause the oil pressure sw. has the lowest resistance of all current and the current being supplied to the fuel pump and the sending unit, and the gas gauge receiving the signal from the sending unit thus no fuse.
I am having the samew problem with my probe and a mchanic said it is the fuel pump sending unit. there is no fuse for it.
This depends on what sending unit you are speaking of. If it's a fuel sending unit, this is in the gas tank. You will have to drop the fuel tank to do this.
Yes you have to drop the fuel tank to access the fuel gauge sending unit on top of the tank.
Lower the Gas tank. Remove the sending unit/fuel pump from the tank and replace the unit. The sending unit and fuel pump come together.
Usually the sending unit (on the pump, in the tank) has failed.Usually the sending unit (on the pump, in the tank) has failed.
The gauge itself is in the instrument cluster; it is the sending unit that is in the tank. Between the two is wiring and a fuse which should be checked before condemning the gauge or sending unit. jb
I believe one fuse protects all the gauges. If only the fuel gauge stopped working I would suspect the sending unit in the fuel tank is at fault.
The fuel sending unit is located inside of the gas tank.
Fuel tank sending unit. Fuse.
In the fuel tank. Fuel tank must be removed to gain access to the sending unit.

fuel level sending unit is the unit that sends message from fuel tank to fuel gauge, telling you how much fuel is in tank
